Infectious diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms are the most common and widespread health risk associated with drinking water.

What is chemical contamination in water?

The phrase ‘chemical contamination’ is used to indicate situations where chemicals are either present where they shouldn’t be, or are at higher concentrations than they would naturally have occurred. Chemical contamination is often because of leaching of factory effluent into ground water table, local land use practices (fertilizers, pesticides, concentrated feeding operations, land fill). http://kspcb.gov.in/to_setupnewindustry.html

What is food adulteration and contaminants?
Contamination and adulteration both may involve the presence of a substance that is not intended to be in a product. The difference is that contamination is unintentional. It may result from natural causes (e.g., heavy metals of the soil that are taken up by plants) or causes implicit in the process (e.g., pesticide residues). Adulteration, on the other hand, is generally economically motivated. It often employs the intentional replacement of the expected ingredient, or its dilution, with a less expensive alternative like adulteration of honey with corn sugar.

We at Fogiene Sciences test for adulteration in various samples such as Honey, Milk, Protein Powders, Spices etc. We also test for contamination in raw ingredients and finished goods such as Pesticide residue analysis in spices and vegetable products, Allergens detection in packaged food, Microbiological contamination of perishable foods.
